My goal in life are materialistic and egotistically (though many call me humble, and I’ll get to that), ideological. I just want to be a role model, a symbol so to speak.
Firstly, I rightly, selfishly want to make a comfortable living or fortune for myself. I think most people want to be in that position to release as much tension in life as possible; that is the goal of business and generally solving problems which life is deterministically genetically destined to do.
But secondly, I want to enshrine my ideology. It’s not political like socialism or libertarianism. Instead, I want to make a life that embodies what I believe the human race is supposed to do: be helpfully communal, ensure individual civil liberties, and be a good role model.
What actions or positions does that entail? To preface, I am of average intelligence; my reading comprehension is fairly average if not below average; my ego gets bashed all the time from accepting I’m wrong all the time. But I do have one arrogant belief that I’m mostly a good person that wants to help people but most egotistically that I think I understand how to ensure not just the survival but set the correct position for humanity.
That means politics. You can read this blog post that speaks about my political ideology which is less about domestic ideology and more about long-term ideology that is best for people and suits human nature and global economics.
Unlike many politicians from Ivies or teens who grow up thinking they know everything, I don’t think I can fix a nation. The best politicians surround themselves with the smartest people and delegate to them to execute. My goal isn’t to be some politician. I don’t want to carve out a story, make campaign promises that I’m tied to that I don’t believe in, and sacrifice the privacy and comfort of my future family. There are tons of Harvard Law School graduates like Barack Obama and Jocelyn Benson who move to some random region and believe they can make significant changes, that they are correct and know what to do. Or maybe they just want some personal glory like being first female president (yea, I’ve met those before; that’s truly selfish in trying to just claim some accolade). My point is I think many people are of the thinking that they know what to do; they may know that an elite team is needed to come up with most policies, but Presidents are the triggers and leaders. Many like President Trump believe they know the best for the nation against advice.
The symbol I want to represent is balance. I want to represent political pragmatism.
The basics of my ideology are progress and humanity. Remaining stale is dangerous because being stale is actually impossible; if you’re becoming stale, it means other parts of your civilization are retracting. I also want to ensure civil liberties; one of my favorite thought books is Dune by Frank Herbert. He praises the willpower of the individual, and I want to ensure individual maxims are reached by those who desire it.
I hope to be able to use whatever fortune I have to enable a long-term fortunate future for future generations based in kindness, logic, and empathy for human nature. By human nature, I’m egotistical in that I think I can make a substantial difference and that I could even be a role model that someone in this world looks up to. I’m arrogant in that I think my pragmatic politics is the correct way to help people by being dynamic. I’m selfish in that I want money regardless of the outcome to make a comfortable living and donate to causes (e.g. nature) I believe in, and not donate to causes I don’t care about. I’m selfish in that I want a big house in a park surrounded by serene fall scents and a car.
