I’ve argued that Europe is declining, but a new point has arisen that I’ve partially addressed before:
What if Europeans choose this relaxing lifestyle? We’ve seen headline claims that many Europeans would rather work less than earn more.
How is it any different from Buddhists or really many people in the world who don’t choose to be ambitious, rather they’d want a comfortable life?
Europeans chose a welfare nation to ensure the bottom are insured. But they clamped on an overregulated policy body that stifles innovation. In doing so with a culture of working less than the world by choosing comfort, they’ve lost their global advantage in innovation. In doing so, they can no longer afford many advanced products worldwide.
